Ballyfitz has just scooted in to land the novice chase & to give 8lb away to decent rivals, has set a decent standard for this season. Royal & Sun Alliance Chase in March is now the target.
Halcon Generlardais battled on in the stamina test for 2nd & will come on for that race. Hopefully will attempt to win the Welsh Grand National this year & then perhaps the english version!
Imperial Commander was a big winner for us yesterday & must now be followed as it could end up with a very decent prize at the end of the year.
Barbers Shop was a gallant 2nd & i can see this one winning a nice chase this season.
Punchestowns took the h'cap hurdle very easily & will have to step up into graded class now, keep an eye on this one.
Jered flopped in Ireland but the ground was heavy which played into the stayers hands & hence Hardy Eustace was able to take advantage. Sizing Europe also ran a fair race on seasonal debut.
Tatenen manintained its unbeaten record over fences by taking the novice chase winning easily. Now 7/2 fav for the Arkle.
Aigle D'Or just failed to give weight away & will be back here no doubt to contest a decent prize.
